ARHUACO DE SEY NUMKÙGWE WATER TANK PROGRESS UPDATE

ARHUACO DE SEY NUMKÙGWE WATER TANK PROGRESS UPDATE

Play Video

Justice Tribe is collaborating with the Indigenous Arhuaco Sey Numkugwe community of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta of Colombia to construct a water tank and irrigation system for their sacred lands. Justice Tribe has provided funding and support for the project. A decrease in rainfall has slowed their farming activities in the region. The water tank and the irrigation system will enable the community to continue growing food and traditional medicinal plants for the Sey Numkugwe community and the tank will also serve as an important source of river water for spiritual ceremonies. This video highlights the progress that has been made in the region that is infamously known as "The Heart of the World."
